Any change in routine or season is the perfect time to evaluate your habits and lifestyle and see where you can set new goals and make changes. Back To School season is one of those times. When was the last time you improved your skincare routine? Most people find something that works and they stick to it. But taking a moment to make a change to your skincare routine can freshen your face and help you improve problem areas that have arisen in past months.
There is no need to be intimidated—what we are actually suggesting is simplifying your routine. Remove the unnecessary products, and just keep it simple. Here is our Back To School skincare routine in 3 steps.
- Cleanse
Cleansing will never be something that we skip. Cleansing is always the most important part of your skincare routine. Throughout the day, dead skin cells, dirt, oils, and impurities build up on the surface of your skin, and eventually clog your pores. When your pores are clogged, this leads to more breakouts.
Cleanse every morning and every evening as the first step to your simplified skincare routine.
- Exfoliate
Complexion looking a little lackluster? This is a sign that it’s time to exfoliate. Exfoliating is the process of sloughing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. For optimal results, use an exfoliating face scrub three times a week, post-cleansing.
- Moisturize
After cleansing, or after cleansing and exfoliating (depending on the day), it’s time to moisturize. The best thing you can do to improve your complexion is to moisturize. Always moisturize your skin while it is still damp. For a hydrated complexion, use a moisturizer that contains hyaluronic acid. We also recommend finding an anti-aging moisturizer.
Sometimes it is best to simply, simplify, simplify. But, if you feel that you need a little something extra, the best addition to this simple 3-step skincare routine is a Vitamin C serum. Vitamin C serums are great for dealing with hyperpigmentation, skin dullness, dark marks, or sagging skin.
