Easy Tech Hacks for More Work Life Balance

Filed in Lifestyle, Social Media — February 12, 2026

The term “work life balance” has been thrown around for years that it has nearly lost its meaning, and to many, it seems unachievable. While sheer willpower may not be enough to attain work life balance, these 5 easy tech hacks will easily and quickly put you into a calmer, more balanced state.

Here are 5 easy tech hacks for more work life balance.

1. Shed your inbox

When it comes to easy tech hacks, one of the first things we learned was how to automatically clear out our inboxes.

Let your inbox take a big imaginary exhale. Imagine opening your inbox and only seeing important messages or newsletters you actually want to read! Think about how often you select unopened emails and delete them, or find yourself wasting time reading emails that you wish you had never opened.

Apps like Unroll Me or Leave Me Alone will show you all of your newsletters and let you unsubscribe from them with just one click.

2. Block yourself from social media (temporarily)

We’re the first to admit we love social media! But we’re not such a big fan of it when it distracts us from our work. And admittedly it can be easy to watch several Instagram Reels after posting your own.

Imagine if you could block yourself from social media temporarily to allow yourself time to focus on work without distractions or pesky notifications.

Apps like Offtime, Moment, Flipd, Freedom, SelfControl, Cold Turkey, FocusMe, and Focus are all designed to help you block social media on both your phone and your computer so you can stay focused on work.

3. Get healthy reminders

While we all intend to stand up and move around more throughout the day, it’s difficult to do so when we’re knee deep in work. Imagine if you had daily reminders to take a deep breath, stand up, or walk around?

If you have an Apple watch then you can use the Breathe app to remind you when to breathe. For your phone, try Calm or My Life for positive notifications that remind you to breathe, but also provide quick and simple calming meditations.

Apps like Healthier: Break Reminder or BreakTime will remind you when to take breaks away from your phone or computer.

4. Delegate tasks more easily

If you’re not already using a productivity app for your team then it’s time to get organized! Productivity apps will help you keep tasks, timelines, calendars, and clients all organized in one simple place.

Our favorite reason for using a productivity app is to quickly and easily delegate tasks. With a click of a button you can assign a task to someone and save yourself time. This means no need for lengthy, back and forth emails!

We use Basecamp, but there is also Monday, ClickUp, and Trello

5. Do not disturb

We now bring you to the simplest tech hack for more work life balance. All you have to do is put your phone and computer on…drumroll please…do not disturb.

This simple hack is accessible to everyone, and there is no reason not to use it throughout your day! When you need to focus on writing a piece of content, responding to an important email, or strategizing your next big idea, turn your phone and computer on do not disturb to avoid constantly being distracted by text and phone notifications.
