So you’re ready to become an affiliate? We’re here to give you all the tools you need to succeed and earn a commission that will give you the freedom and flexibility to work from anywhere in the world, and on your own schedule. You may have heard the idea of “making money while you sleep,” and this is what we’re talking about.

Now that you’ve signed up to be a brand affiliate, it’s time to set up a marketing strategy to maximize your commissions. Here are six ways to maximize your commissions as a brand affiliate.

  1. Become An SEO Genius

Okay, maybe not a genius, but SEO is a skill you want in your toolbox. While social media marketing will likely make up the bulk of your marketing strategy, SEO is a great way to get organic traffic from search engines. People are always looking up information online, especially when it comes to skincare, makeup, and wellness. Create tons of blog content around the products you sell, and use keywords to boost SEO. The key to making SEO work is to post on your blog consistently, and link to other pages on your website—like your product page. Take some time to learn more about SEO and begin to implement it into your page. We promise, it’s easier than you think!

  1. Grow Your Email List

Believe it or not, emails are not a thing of the past. Grow your email list by offering a freebie guide, hosting a virtual webinar or Q&A, or by having a pop-up on your website. Use blog posts, events, and freebies to continually drive people to your website, and eventually your email list will grow. A regular newsletter is a great way to share new products and deals, and unlike your social media followers, you actually own your email list. A newsletter gives you direct communication to your subscribers. Essentially, you get to skip the algorithm and ensure that people who already resonate with your personal brand see the products you’re selling.

  1. Be An Expert & Provide Value

Develop a rapport with your audience. While it’s nice when you can count on your friends and family to help you out in the beginning, you really need to build an audience who has very specific interests. Find your niche and speak directly to people who don’t need to be convinced to buy skincare, makeup, CBD oil, or whatever it is that you’re selling. You want to gain followers who are already obsessed with these things. Then it is your job to show them why they should buy from you. It’s not just about how amazing the products may be, it’s about your audience trusting that you’re an expert in the industry. They will be loyal to you if you continually share new information relevant to your niche. When people depend on you to post valuable content, then your posts will be more engaging, reach new people, and eventually grow your following and overall influence.

  1. Share Your Personal Experience & Story

In addition to sharing valuable information, you’ll also want to share your personal experience with the products you’re selling, as well as the story of why you’re doing what you do. Get vulnerable with your followers. Do you believe that these products can change and improve lives? Then tell your audience how your products have impacted your own life. Your content doesn’t always have to be about the products you’re selling. Don’t be afraid to just keep it real and share stories from your daily life. If your audience loves you as a person, they’ll be more likely to listen when you’re actually talking about the products.

  1. Study Your Analytics

On both your website and social media platforms you can find insights and analytics. Don’t take these for granted! Be sure to read them regularly—thankfully platforms make these tools super easy to read. This will help you understand your audience so you can speak to them more directly.

You’ll especially want to pay attention to where your traffic is coming from on your affiliate dashboard. Track your affiliate links and see if most of your commission is coming from your Instagram page, or your website. Track the link(s) in your bio and see what content is most engaging to your followers.

There are so many resources for studying the analytics of your brand to help you market with more confidence. Dedicate one morning a week for doing research on your brand.

Okay, time to get to work! Congratulations on your new gig as an affiliate. We know you’ll be earning a generous commission in no time, and most importantly, living the life of your dreams.
